Laboratory for ideas. Carpentry.

Peace of Cedar. Tree shadow. Axe. Knife. Chisel. Sandpaper. That’s what I needed most of the time when I was kid and spent time in our country house during summer holidays. I was obsessed with making wooden spoons.

Many years later, my wife and I were sitting in an empty apartment which we had just bought. My thought – I will make all essential furniture by myself so that we could save money. We went shopping and I bought whatever I thought was necessary and what my father taught me.

A wooden bookshelf designed without nails or glue, using inclined legs and additional wooden rods for stability. The weight of the shelves and stored items keeps the structure firmly grounded.

First prototypes

Sketches during lunch at work, some adjustments during night and here we are, our apartment got first shelf which I luckily could finish right before the new year night. That is pure happiness and celebration.

I was working full time job working for Korean company for 10 hours per day as an Architect and in the late evenings I was making furniture. I didn’t even have any doubt that someone else could do it better for our family than me.

A wooden structure and panel finishing for the bathroom, including towel holder and table for the sink placement.
